Federal Tables
If you are using Corona for payroll accounting and reporting, it is important to update the tables Corona uses to perform federal withholding calculations as the IRS releases updated tables each year in December.
The Percentage Method Tables for Automated Payroll Systems were used to compile these tables for use with Corona 4.5 and higher versions during 2024:
This file is a .zip archive file, will create a “FED2025” folder in the folder it is opened. This folder includes the tax tables file (FED2025.txt) and an informative file describing the steps to update the tax tables in your transactions file for 2025 payroll (Tax Tables ReadMe.pdf).
Important Additional Information beginning in 2020 for Payroll:
For 2020, the IRS redesigned Form W-4, Employees Withholding Certificate. The purpose of this revision was to implement changes in the rules used to calculate withholding amounts similarly as the annual Form 1040, Individual Tax Return, going forward.
While employees are encouraged to complete a new Form W-4 for their employer, they are not required to update because of the redesign. All employees hired during and after 2020, and all existing employees updating to the current year Form W-4, will complete the redesigned Form W-4.
Versions of Corona prior to 4.2 do not support the new revised Form W-4. Anyone using Corona’s payroll accounting feature should update to the current 4.7 version The 2025 Tax Tables available here are for use with Corona 4.3 or later.
You may feel free to inquire about these changes to payroll and other questions you may have about accounting for payroll. The Support Request… command under Corona’s Help menu helps facilitate this with an email form addressed to corona4mac@icloud.com
